A Beauty Minute with Lavinia Tam

2 secondes ago by

You might remember Lavinia’s face from this lovely style profile. But with skin like that, we couldn’t help but have her back to ask a few questions about her routine. And as always, if you want more of Lavinia, you can always find her at The Wild Muse Journal and The Wild Muse Studio.

What is your morning beauty routine?

I have never been much of a morning person, and it often takes awhile to get started. My partner describes these initial minutes as ‘my soul taking its time to arrive,’ which I love! My mornings always begin with a big mug of tea and a glass of water, followed by a shower. These days, my skincare and beauty routine is definitely my first meditation of the day. I love having few drops of eucalyptus oil in my shower – it’s incredibly grounding and restorative. Following this, I layer my skincare on with a gentle face massage, and seal it in with some sunscreen which is essential! Hydration is key when it comes to my skincare routine. When I have more time, I would include an ice facial massage, as it’s incredible for boosting circulation and reducing puffiness.

What products do you use throughout the day and why?

My supplements support me throughout the day. Liposomal Vitamin C, Vitamin B and Magnesium are the holy trinity when it comes to stress management! In addition, RMS Beauty’s pre-biotics are great. Rose-Marie introduced this to me when I was interviewing her for the Wild Muse Journal, and I firmly agree with her belief that gut health is the most important cornerstone to wellbeing.

What is your evening beauty routine?

The evening is my favorite time of the day. It is the time that I have more space for introspection and ritual. My skincare routine is similar to my morning ritual, however my focus is on restorative and reparative treatment to undo the stressors of the day. This starts with my cleansing routine. My mother has incredible skin, and she has always placed great emphasis on gentle, non-abrasive cleansing. The Papaya Sorbet Enzyme balm by K Beauty brand Glow Recipe is my current favorite makeup cleanser. I follow this up with Chantecaille’s Rice and Geranium foam cleanser – I have bought this so many times, it is truly a beauty staple. Finally, I bookmark my cleansing by using a gentle, hydrating toner. I’m currently using Haruharu’s Black Rice Toner. Using richer, more nourishing products is key to my evening routine. After cleansing, I have some absolute MVP’s that include the Fleure Vibrante serum and Calendula face oil by InFiore. Out of all the skincare I have tried, Julie’s brand of skincare is really one of the most nourishing and effective skincare out there. I finally end my beauty routine with lip balm and a hydrating face mist.

What is your definition of beauty?

Wisdom. It is the most wonderful gift of a life lived.

When do you feel most beautiful?

When I’m in my creative flow.
