The French Braid

7 years ago by

It might not actually be French, but I still like it.

French braids make me feel really nostalgic. I think about summer camp, wearing them in my hair for the whole week just to keep my hair off my face, high school football games when matching French braids were the only way to go. This summer, I’ve been back in a French braid mindest. The other weekend I went upstate to my friend’s farm and sported a French braid (thanks to her expert braiding abilities) for the weekend. My hair was off my face, it was more secure than any ponytail I could create and after sleeping in my braid (that’s right) I didn’t mind the little baby hairs that came out around the edges. It felt fresh, young and ideal for hot summer weather.

Doing it on myself is trickier than it looks, but I’m working on it.
