Upstate with Lisa Przystup

We are thrilled to alert you all to the fantastic book Lisa Przystup has been hard at work on this past year, Upstate: Living Spaces with Space to Live. The timing of this book seems beyond serendipitous as this past year, spent mainly at home, has caused most to reckon with their spaces and high-tail it out of the city. This collection of characterful interiors, from both sides of the Hudson, photographed by Sarah Elliott, will leave you wanting to do the same (if you haven’t already).

To the Broken Hearted, with Love

To my fellow broken hearts,

First thing’s first, I write to offer you my condolences. What a time for a broken heart. What a time to lose love. In the face of so many other losses – from our ability to casually gather around a dinner table with friends to seeing a stranger’s smile, from hugging our grandparents to our general sense of safety and security in the world. A broken heart on top of all of it almost seems cruel. This is when we arguably need connection, intimacy, a teammate the most. Its when we need love to really show up – goddamn it – just like the apocalyptic movies promised and do its job; help ease our loneliness and existential dread, lend life meaning and stability as the tectonic plates of our collective souls unexpectedly and rapidly shift. And then shift again. Unfortunately, the pandemic seems to have other plans in store for us.

Lessons In… Gifting

Emme Parsons has developed somewhat of a cult following in the footwear space. The LA-based designer has created timeless silhouettes that have become true classics and closet staples in the short time since she launched her namesake brand of shoes made in Italy. Known for her sandals, Emme launched her first boot this fall and it has us excited to (finally) wear real shoes again.
