Our New World

My dear Doré readers, it’s been a while.

And it’s not because I am not here! It’s because this place has tremendously evolved over the years, and I am tremendously proud of this.

This week we welcome the always inspiring Richard Christiansen to The Doré Edit! Richard is one of those people that can’t help but make you dream. We met Richard as the founder of creative agency, Chandelier, but his new ventures on the West Coast have inspired us deeply. And then there’s Owl Bureau, the bookstore and creative hub of our dreams in Highland Park that opened last year. Here’s a peek into Richard’s magical world.

For the Love of a Market Tote

I’ve never been shy about my love of a good market tote. One of my many feeble attempts at imitating the inimitable style of Jane Birkin is to wear mine all year round, regardless of weather, as she did in the 70s. If anything, being in quarantine has only reinforced this love because, well, the market is one of the few places I actually go these days.

Letting it All Air Dry

I totally forgot how much I love my curly hair. Quarantine has reminded me of that because I have done absolutely nothing to my hair the past three months and the curls have reemerged from their hibernation of the...
