When I met Ariana the other week, I instantly loved her relaxed but elegant vibe. It’s not just evident in her look (and that hair!), but a trait she naturally embodies.
Ariana is the founder of MAKE, one of my favorite beauty lines (remember the terrazzo inspired bronzer?), and is a true creative. I wanted to introduce you to her, and asked her to tell us a little about this outfit…
Since my early twenties, I have always loved vintage textiles and antiques. Last May I was able to travel to Brimfield, one of the largest antique fairs in the world, in Massachusetts and found a one-of-a-kind silk men’s shirt from the late nineteenth or early twentieth century. These tend to be my signature: distressed cotton French workmen’s shirts or polished English tuxedo shirts. I usually have to get ones from British public schools, as the boys sizes fit me better. The fabric is always such good quality; better than anything you find today and at much better prices.
I also grew up playing dress up with my brother and our grandfather’s vest was one of our mutual favorite pieces. I still love them. This one was made by Chadwick Bell.
Shirt, vintage; vest, Chadwick Bell; shoes, Stella McCartney; bag, Céline.
