Today is Garance’s birthday!!!!!!
Europe is celebrating with a holiday (that part might be a coincidence, but I’m still giving it to G!), which has us dreaming of the places we love to visit when we’re there.
During the last London visit, the team stopped by the extremely elegant Roland Mouret store in Mayfair. It’s one of Garance’s favorites so, when we discussed Erik and Brie going, we immediately said they had make a visit to the store – it’s a great way to go beyond the purity and perfection of his dresses and discover his rich and intricate world…
Set in a traditional Georgian townhouse that was built in 1891, Roland Mouret came up with the concept for the store – he wanted to play with the balance of existing traditional interiors (how incredible are the ceilings?) by introducing modern elements. He also handpicked all of the art, and even chose the florist, Scarlet & Violet, that supplies all of the flowers.
As you walk through, there are rich tones of dark wood and, along the way, you encounter surprisingly modern objects. Somehow it works; there is a sense of the French aesthetic of the brand that rings true, while still celebrating the traditional British design of the building.
