Have you ever seen so much pink?!
It would maybe be a little overwhelming, if it wasn’t so beautiful. It’s like pure cotton candy…
Unlike Garance, I’ve had a conflicted relationship with pink in the past. We’ve had our ups and downs; it’s not always a love that comes naturally, it’s a little more seasonal so to speak. But, recently and inspired by how effortlessly pink is embraced at the Studio, I’ve come to really love it. So striking, feminine and (I think this is the perfect word for it?) pretty. It’s classic but unpredictable, don’t you think?
Nowhere in the world does pink quite like Sketch, set in the super cool Regent Street area of London. The team had tea there with Lou and Paula, and it was like a chic, pink shrine… booths in tufted pink velvet, playful white china, gold accents, and cheeky artwork by David Shrigley that you can literally buy off the wall! Oh, and the craziest selection of tea to remind you that you’re absolutely, definitely in London (note: the English love tea)(it’s a very serious thing there,
even especially if drunk in an entirely pink room).
The restaurant, designed by India Mahdavi, is modern in ways but the old world charm remains (just look at that ceiling!), the mini cakes are heavenly, and the luminescent pink is something altogether… So, the love affair lives on.
Don’t you wish you were there right now? Enjoying tea (and champagne!), and sinking back into that plush, pink couch..
