It’s no surprise to anyone that we love Kerry Diamond. She’s been on the podcast, we are all avid readers of Cherry Bombe (G was in the first issue!) and I’ve made quite a few of the recipes in her cookbook. Oh and their next Jubilee is coming up!!
But on top of being a female food media mogul, she also happens to own Smith Canteen, a great cafe in my old neighborhood of Carroll Gardens in Brooklyn. On top of having wonderful coffee and delicious pastries and snacks, she also just told me they are now making their almond milk from scratch every. single. day. Fresh almond milk for all!!
I know this may come as a surprise to many of you, but most places in Brooklyn (and Manhattan–and anywhere really…) don’t make their almond milk themselves. So big kudos to Kerry and Smith Canteen and their fresh almond milk (her recipe isn’t totally dissimilar to the one we published here. No nut bag required! Gosh that’s the most awkward thing to write…) Definitely worth a visit next time you’re in Brooklyn.
