Kotn on Mercer

We love seeing more and more conscientious fashion brands pop up in our neighborhood so we wanted to give a warm welcome to Kotn! Kotn is a clothing company whose clothes are designed in Toronto and manufactured in the Nile Delta, Egypt.

Kotn (pronounced “cotton”) focuses exclusively on producing basic essentials with Egyptian cotton grown and harvested in the Nile Delta. Since 2001 there’s been a 95% decline in demand of this Egyptian “white gold” cotton due to big corporations opting for cheaper options.

Kotn wants to rebuild the Egyptian cotton industry from the inside out by working with local farmers and selling direct to consumer, therefore keeping the price affordable.

Beyond that, they have re-vamped the retail experience to touch all on your senses. You might stop by to buy the perfect white shirt but you’ll also smell some great aromas, be offered a curated selection of magazines, and maybe even want to stay awhile.

We highly encourage stopping by Kotn’s first New York retail experience at 112 Mercer.
