With the start of Renewal Month here at the Atelier, we’re all about spring cleaning, new beginnings, and sustainability. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’ve been overwhelmed by all of my favorite clothing brands releasing gorgeous new pieces this spring. I keep trying to convince myself I don’t need any of it because my closet is EXPLODING. So, per my yearly tradition, I am beginning to clean out my overflowing closet to get rid of the clothes I keep for sentimental reasons but never wear. With this comes much-needed reorganization, rediscovery of old gems, and the realization of the pieces I need to complete some spring outfit ideas! As I hunt for a few critical additions to my wardrobe, I’ve been restricting myself to sustainable brands or those that do not engage in fast fashion. After all, the fashion and textile industry is the second most polluting industry in the world.
Fun (and important) fact, Theory, the brand known for very functional and stylish clothes, has reinvented their iconic linens with a new sustainable Good Linen collection for both men and women. With twenty-eight new pieces, ranging from breezy linen blazers, shirts, pants, and dresses, Theory is bringing back linen in a whole new way. Linen is one of my favorite spring/summer fabrics because it is so lightweight and can be worn to the beach, to work, or even out to dinner.
Not only is Good Linen stylish and versatile, but it is also one of the most eco-friendly fabrics “needing little water, producing close to no waste, and providing natural soil fertilization”. So, as you’re giving your closet a much-needed purge and feel as though you are missing a spring staple, try Good Linen for a fashionable, sustainable and smart addition to your spring wardrobe.
